How Can You Create Unique Melodies Using Common Chord Progressions?

Creating cool melodies using common chord progressions is all about trying new things! Here’s what I like to do:

  • Change the Rhythm: Play around with the timing of your notes. A different beat can make your music feel exciting.

  • Use Arpeggios: Take those chords and break them apart. This can make your music feel more lively.

  • Try Different Scales: Experiment with a mixolydian scale on top of a major chord. It can add a nice touch.

  • Add Blue Notes: Using notes like a flat 3rd or flat 7th can make your melody sound more emotional and rich.
