1. Good Fats vs. Bad Fats:

    • They can help lower bad cholesterol, which is called LDL, and can lower the chances of heart disease.
  • Saturated Fats:

    • These fats are found in things like red meat, whole milk, and some oils.
    • They can raise LDL cholesterol levels, so it's a good idea to eat less of these fats to keep your heart healthy.
  • Trans Fats:

    • These are usually found in processed foods, like snacks and some baked goods.
    • They are not good for you at all!
    • Trans fats raise bad cholesterol and can lower the good cholesterol, known as HDL.

2. Recommendations:

  • Try to eat more unsaturated fats and cut back on saturated and trans fats.
  • The American Heart Association suggests that fats should make up about 25% to 35% of your daily calories.
