How do environmental factors influence gene expression and inheritance patterns?

Environmental factors play a big role in how our genes work. Let’s break it down:

  • Temperature: In some animals, cooler weather can lead to darker colors in their fur or skin.

  • Diet: What we eat can change certain traits. For example, plants can grow differently based on their food.

  • Stress: When there’s a lot of stress around, it can turn on certain genes. This can change how someone behaves or how healthy they are.

So, even though we get our genes from our parents, the environment can change how these genes are shown!
