How Do Positive and Negative Charges Affect Electric Current Flow?

Electric charges come in two types: positive and negative. These charges are really important for how electricity moves.

  • Positive Charges: Think of positive charges like empty spaces where electrons should be. These empty spots can pull in electrons from nearby atoms, which helps create electric current.

  • Negative Charges: These are the ones that have electrons. In most electric circuits, it’s the electrons that do the work. When we have a difference in electric power (called voltage), the electrons flow from the negative side to the positive side. This movement is what we see as electric current.

In simple terms, the way positive and negative charges work together gets the electrons moving. And that movement is what we call electric current!
