How Do Temperature and Pressure Affect the Speed of Sound Waves?

Temperature and pressure are important for how fast sound travels.

Temperature: When the temperature goes up, the tiny particles in the air move faster. This helps sound waves to move quicker, too. For every 1°C increase in temperature, sound can travel about 0.6 meters per second faster.

Pressure: Pressure doesn't change sound speed as much, especially in gases where the temperature stays the same. Instead, the density of the gas is what really affects how fast sound travels.

So, in simple terms: When it’s warmer, sound travels faster!
