How Does Radiation Allow Us to Feel the Sun's Heat from Earth?

Radiation is a really cool way we feel the sun's heat here on Earth!

Unlike conduction and convection, which need stuff to transfer heat, radiation can move through empty space.

Here’s how it works:

  • The Sun Sends Out Energy: The sun gives off energy in waves called electromagnetic waves.
  • Journey Through Space: These waves travel across the empty space.
  • Earth Soaks It Up: When the waves reach the Earth, we take in this energy, which makes us feel warm.

That’s why even on a cold day, the sun can still feel nice and warm!
