2. Direction of Correlation:

• Positive correlations (where ( r > 0 )) make graphs go up as you look from left to right.
• Negative correlations (where ( r < 0 )) make graphs go down.

3. Linearity:

• Scatter plots (a type of graph) help us see if the relationship is linear (a straight line). A straight pattern means we can use a linear correlation coefficient.
• If the pattern isn't straight, we might need to use other ways to analyze the data.

4. Outliers:

• Outliers are points that stand out from the rest on a graph. They can really change the correlation coefficient and lead to misunderstanding.
