The PERMA model from positive psychology shows the key parts of well-being: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. Let’s break down how relationships are important in each of these areas.

1. Positive Emotion

Relationships bring us joy! Sharing laughter and happy moments with others lifts our spirits. Remembering a fun day with friends can make us smile all over again. When we enjoy these moments together, our bodies release feel-good hormones like oxytocin. Plus, facing life’s ups and downs is easier and more fun when we have friends to support us.

Being deeply involved with others helps us feel more connected.
