When we talk about mean, median, and mode, here’s what I’ve learned:

• Mean: This is what most people call the average.
  To find the mean, you add up all the numbers.
  Then, you divide that total by how many numbers there are.
  For example, if you have the numbers 2, 3, and 4:
  You add them together like this: 2 + 3 + 4, which equals 9.
  Then, you divide 9 by 3 (since there are three numbers).
  So, the mean is 3.

• Median: This is the middle number, but you have to sort the numbers first.
  If you take the numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5, you first put them in order (which they already are).
  Now, since there are four numbers, you look for the two middle ones: 3 and 4.
  To find the median, you take the average of those two numbers.
  So, (3 + 4) divided by 2 gives you 3.5.
  That’s your median!

• Mode: The mode is the number that shows up the most.
  For example, in the numbers 2, 3, 3, and 4, the number 3 appears twice, while the others only appear once.
  So, the mode is 3 because it happens the most!
