What Are the Global Agreements in Place to Address Climate Change?

There are a few important global agreements to help fight climate change. Let’s look at them:

  1. The Paris Agreement: This agreement was made in 2015. Its goal is to keep the Earth's temperature from rising too much— to less than 2°C above what it was before industrial growth. Each country gets to decide how much they will reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

  2. Kyoto Protocol: This was an earlier agreement from 1997. It asked developed countries to lower their greenhouse gas emissions.

  3. London Protocol: This agreement focuses on keeping our oceans clean since climate change can also harm the ocean.

These agreements encourage countries to work together and come up with new ideas to fight climate change and take care of our planet.
