What is the Role of the Nucleus in Cell Function?

The nucleus is often called the "control center" of the cell, and that’s a pretty good nickname! Let’s break down what it does for the cell:

Important Jobs of the Nucleus:

  1. Storing Genetic Material:

    • The nucleus keeps the cell's DNA safe. DNA contains all the instructions needed for how the cell works and grows. You can think of it as a library full of books that have recipes for making proteins. Proteins are super important because they help the cell do many different things.
