What Lessons Can Be Learned from Failures in Contemporary Architecture for Academic Design Studios?

Failures in modern architecture teach us important lessons for design schools:

  1. Focusing Too Much on Trends: Many buildings don't succeed because they look good but don’t really serve the needs of the community.

  2. Not Understanding the Surroundings: When designers ignore local culture and climate, their buildings can seem out of place.

  3. Poor Teamwork: When different teams don't work well together, the designs often end up being messy and unclear.

To fix these problems, design schools should focus on teaching the whole picture. This means understanding the context, or surroundings, and encouraging teams from different fields to work together.
