What Simple Techniques Can Help You Apply Color Theory to Your Crafting?

When adding colors to your craft projects, here are some easy tips that have really helped me:

  1. Color Wheel: Get to know the color wheel. It shows primary colors (red, blue, yellow), secondary colors (green, orange, purple), and tertiary colors. This makes it easier to pick colors.

  2. Complementary Colors: Choose colors that are opposite each other on the wheel. They create a strong and eye-catching look.

  3. Analogous Colors: Pick colors that are next to each other on the wheel. They make your project feel more relaxing and balanced.

  4. Tints and Shades: Try mixing in white to lighten a color (called a tint) or black to darken it (called a shade). This adds depth to your work.

  5. 75/25 Rule: Use one main color for 75% of your project and another color for 25%. This helps keep everything balanced.

These tips can really take your crafting to the next level!
