Use one cutting board just for meat. This keeps it separate from fruits and veggies. You wouldn’t want chicken juices getting into your salad!

3. Keep It Cool:

Store raw meat in the fridge at 40°F or lower. If you’re unsure, use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.

4. Thaw Safely:

Always thaw meat in the fridge, not on the counter. If you need to hurry, you can use cold water or the microwave, but make sure to cook it right away.

5. Cook Thoroughly:

Use a food thermometer to make sure meat is cooked to safe temperatures: 165°F for chicken, 145°F for fish, and 160°F for ground meats.
