Why is Natural Selection Considered the Driving Force of Evolution?

Natural selection is a key part of evolution. It helps us understand how living things change and adapt over time. Here’s how it works:

  • Variation Happens: Not all individuals in a species look or act the same. They have different traits.

  • Survival of the Fittest: The individuals with traits that are better for their environment are more likely to live longer and have babies.
