Understanding measures of dispersion is important for Year 1 Gymnasium students for a few reasons:

   Measures of dispersion show us how spread out the values are around the average, also known as the mean.

   • Range: This is the difference between the biggest and smallest values in a set of numbers.
   • Variance: This measures how far the numbers in a dataset are from the average. We find it by taking the average of the squared differences from the mean.
   • Standard Deviation: This is the square root of the variance. It helps us understand how spread out the numbers are, using the same units as the data.

3. Why Does This Matter?
   Knowing about these measures helps us understand data better. It allows us to compare different groups of data and make smarter choices based on that information.
